Official rules of the association

The name of the association is Malmi Aviation Club (Malmin Ilmailukerho ry) and its location is Helsinki.
Purpose and Activities of the Aviation Club
The purpose of the association is to gather people from Southern Finland interested in aviation to promote and practice general aviation and to serve as a hobby circle for its members.
To fulfill its purpose, the association: Provides flight instruction and training to its members, Provides aircraft for members' use, Organizes educational and presentation events, trips, and club meetings for its members, Organizes air shows and aviation exhibitions, Organizes public flights and other paid entertainment events, Rents equipment to external parties, Works to promote flight safety by making proposals to authorities, Organizes events for members to promote aviation knowledge and flight safety, and Engages in information and publishing activities.
To support its activities, the association may accept donations and bequests, acquire and own real and movable property necessary for its activities, and with appropriate permission, organize lotteries and fundraising campaigns.
The purpose of the association is not to seek profit or other direct financial gain.
Members
The members of the association are: Regular members, Youth members, Supporting members, and Honorary members.
Regular members may be persons who are of legal age, accept the purpose of the association, and are of good reputation.
Youth members may be persons aged 15-17 who accept the purpose of the association and are of good reputation. When a youth member turns 18, they automatically become a regular member.
Supporting members may be natural or legal persons who wish to support the association's purpose and activities.
Regular, youth, and supporting members are approved by the membership manager on the association's board upon application. Honorary members may be invited at an association meeting upon the board's proposal, for persons who have worked exceptionally meritoriously for the aviation club and supported the club's activities.
Joining and Membership Fees
The autumn meeting decides on the amount of the joining fee and annual membership fee to be charged from regular members, youth members, and supporting members separately for each member group. Honorary members do not pay membership fees.
Member Expulsion
The association may expel a member who no longer fulfills the membership conditions stated in law or the association's rules, whose conduct damages the association or its reputation, or who neglects their membership fees.
Board
The association's affairs are managed by a board consisting of a chairperson and at least 4 (four) and at most 10 (ten) members elected at the autumn meeting. The board's term of office is the calendar year. If a board member resigns during their term, a new member is elected at the next association meeting to replace them.
The board has a quorum when at least half of its members, including the chairperson or vice-chairperson, are present. Votes are decided by a majority of votes. In case of a tie, the chairperson's vote decides, except in elections where a draw is used.
Board Duties
The board's duty is to manage the association's affairs according to the association's decisions and to: represent the association, convene autumn and spring meetings and extraordinary meetings and prepare matters to be discussed at them, manage the aviation club's funds and property with care, maintain cooperation with other associations, perform other tasks required by the aviation club's activities, and promote the fulfillment of the aviation club's purpose.
Signing the Association's Name
The association's name is signed by the board's chairperson and vice-chairperson together, or either of them together with the board's secretary or treasurer.
Fiscal Year
The association's fiscal year is the calendar year.
Association Meetings
Association meetings can be attended, if decided by the board or association meeting, also by mail or using telecommunications or other technical aids during or before the meeting.
The association holds two regular meetings annually. The spring meeting is held by the end of April and the autumn meeting by the end of November on a date determined by the board.
At association meetings, each regular member has one vote. Supporting members and youth members have the right to attend and speak at the meeting. The association meeting's decision is the opinion supported by more than half of the votes cast, except decisions to amend the rules or dissolve the association must be made by a 3/4 majority of votes cast. In case of a tie, the meeting chairperson's vote decides, except in elections where a draw is used. Association votes can be conducted by mail or using telecommunications or other technical aids during or before the meeting.
Convening Association Meetings
The board must convene association meetings at least five days before the meeting by email.
Aviation Club Spring Meeting
Matters to be discussed at the spring meeting: Opening of the meeting, Election of meeting chairperson, secretary, two minute checkers, and if necessary two vote counters, Confirmation of the meeting's legality and quorum, Approval of the meeting's agenda, Presentation of financial statements, annual report, and auditor's statement, Decision on confirming the financial statements and granting discharge from liability to the board and other responsible parties, Discussion of other matters mentioned in the meeting notice.
Aviation Club Autumn Meeting
Matters to be discussed at the autumn meeting: Opening of the meeting, Election of meeting chairperson, secretary, two minute checkers, and if necessary two vote counters, Confirmation of the meeting's legality and quorum, Approval of the meeting's agenda, Confirmation of the action plan, budget, and joining and membership fees for the following calendar year, Decision on board and chairperson and members' compensation, Decision on possible compensation for other officials, Election of board chairperson and other board members, Election of one operations auditor and deputy operations auditor and one financial auditor and deputy financial auditor, Discussion of other matters mentioned in the meeting notice.
If an association member wishes to have a matter discussed at the spring or autumn meeting, they must notify the board in writing in good time so that the matter can be included in the meeting notice.
Association Extraordinary Meetings
An extraordinary association meeting is convened when decided by an association meeting or when the board deems it necessary, or when at least one-tenth (1/10) of the association's voting members request it for discussing a specified matter. The notice for an extraordinary meeting is done in the same way as for spring and autumn meetings.
Amending Rules and Dissolving the Association
The decision to amend the rules and dissolve the association must be made at an association meeting with at least a 3/4 majority of votes cast. The meeting notice must mention the amendment of rules or dissolution of the association.
Amending these rules requires decisions at two consecutive meetings. The interval between meetings must be at least three (3) weeks. At both meetings, the rule amendment must be supported by at least a three-quarters (3/4) majority of votes cast.
When the association is dissolved, its assets are used to promote the association's purpose in the manner determined by the meeting deciding on dissolution. If the association is liquidated, its assets are used for the same purpose.
Compliance with Association Law
Otherwise, the provisions of the valid association law are followed.
